The Gigantophis, a legendary prehistoric snake, is the first of its kind in ARK. This creature is meticulously designed with 100% custom-built dynamic tail physics, enabling seamless and fluid movement akin to real-life snakes. Say goodbye to outdated, clunky snake mechanics! Beyond its revolutionary motion system, the Gigantophis boasts a host of unique abilities and mechanics, enhancing your gameplay experience significantly.

After 7 Long months of development, brain melting, and very complicated snake movement code, I present to you all:Gigantophis!

What is a Gigantophis?

The Gigantophis was an enormous prehistoric snake that thrived in ancient wetlands. This creature serves as both a deadly predator and a valuable companion, offering specialized abilities for combat, resource gathering, and stealth.

What can it do?

Basic Bite
Tail Slam (Stuns enemies while dealing damage)
Tail Swipe (Wide AOE attack with knockback)
Thermal Vision
Shed Skin (Useful to distract enemies with the skin as a decoy and provides a temporary speed buff & regen buff. Perfect for sticky situations!)
Hypnotize Enemies (Puts dinos and players to sleep)
Constrict (Suffocates victims)
Climb Redwood Trees (Can climb and utilize tail-mounted weapons from elevated positions)
Grab & Swallow Creatures (Devours creatures, yielding health/food restoration and a chance for loot pellets based on the creature digested)
Equip Custom Tail Guns (Transforms Gigantophis into a ranged combat mount)
Random Pattern Variants (Each Gigantophis can have unique patterns, allowing breeding for endless mutation and color combinations!)

What are the spawn codes?

Spawn codes and additional details can be found here: Mod Info Google Doc Link. ALSO! This mod includes a custom admin remote, crafted via an item in Creative Mode, allowing players to easily spawn the Gigantophis, configure mod settings, and access items through a user-friendly menu.

How can I configure Gigantophis for balance or other purposes?

The custom admin remote, available only in Creative Mode, enables full configuration of Gigantophis settings. You can adjust its strength and other parameters to suit your preferences.

What is its gameplay purpose?

The Gigantophis is designed as a fun mid-to-endgame combat mount with exceptional utility. Its versatility allows players to adapt to various gameplay scenarios:

Close-Range Utility Mount: Hypnotize targets for taming.
Close-Range Combat: Deliver devastating melee attacks.
Long-Range Combat/Support: Equip its Minigun Tail or Pulse Gun Attachment to engage enemies from a distance.
With multiple stances and abilities, Gigantophis proves to be an invaluable asset in nearly any situation.
Swallow creatures, digest them and gain some sweet valuables from the digested remains.
Challenge larger creatures by constricting them.

Where can I find them?

Gigantophis spawns in jungle regions on The Island, The Center, and any map with dense forest biomes. Be cautious, as they are highly aggressive.

How do I tame one?

The taming process for Gigantophis is truly unique, inspired by the methods of snake charmers. Follow these steps:

Craft a Gigantophis Snake Flute
Play the flute from a distance to capture the Gigantophis’s attention and calm it, preventing aggression.
Once charmed, a taming prompt will appear, the snake will then sway its head noticeably, and approach you in a cobra-like posture.
Once close, the Gigantophis will grab you, initiating the taming process, make sure to have your flute equipped, (if you don't it's still ok but you need to have it out to proceed with taming)
While being held, watch the shapes formed by the Gigantophis’s head movements. Use the flute to play the corresponding musical notes displayed on your HUD. (If the shape prompt's don't show just unequip and re-equip the flute)
Successfully matching all notes will complete the taming process, and the Gigantophis will become your loyal companion!

Important Taming NOTES:

If you want to end the taming; unequip the flute and rapidly punch Gigantophis, this will force it to drop you.
When taming Gigantophis, creatures around you will not attack you or Gigantophis, unless prompted.
