The original name for Allosaurus! That big Allosaur found in the Morrison Formation that’s name and validity has been long debated? That’s what Antrodemus represents!

Wild - Larger than its Allosaur brethren that roams the Ark, Antrodemus rivals the Tyrannosaurus in size. One of the most noticeable differences between Antrodemus and Allosaurus, aside from size, is that Antrodemus is more independent. Don't be fooled though, Antrodemus is no less fierce than a pack of Allos. Its bite is more alike than different from an Allo's, sharing similar saw shaped teeth that leaves its prey bleeding. All that blood is very nutritious and allows the Antro to heal very rapidly after feeding on its fallen foes.

Domesticated - Antrodemus makes an excellent pursuit mount. Its bite coupled with its innate ability to seemingly never need a break while on the hunt makes this beast one of the last mounts a rival would want to face off against. Antrodemus has a few more things to offer its tamer, like the ability to scare away creatures that are generally seen in packs, as well as creatures who are encouraged by their mate. Its very steady movement and fearlessness allow the rider to also use their weapons while in combat. The saddle also supports crafting mortar and pestle items on the go.

Taming - Taming an Antrodemus is no easy feat, it is unaffected by tranqs so you’ll need to prove your worth as a great warrior. You first need to harvest the brains of its sister species, then challenge the Antro by dropping the brain on the ground in front of it. You want it to see the brain before it sees you, so keep a healthy distance. The brain seems to anger and make Antrodemus go into a frenzy mode, becoming more powerful and resilient for a time. Antrodemus will show when it is ready to be fed and tamed as it assumes a defeated position. It refuses to fall over, but will appear concussed and weak. It's not too picky, preferring regular kibble and above.
